How It Began....

So here I am about to embark on a year away and an escape from the hamster wheel of working life!! I'd seen an excellent career advisor early last year who had given me a new perspective and helped me to understand why I wasn't happy. She sowed a few seeds that flourished during the year – the main one being take some time out. I'd had a pretty shitty and stressful 2009 working very long and crazy hours including many weekends. I felt i hadn't been living life and having fun for a while. It was definitely time for a break.... a year should just about do it i reckon!! With a week left at work in December, my leave of absence was finally signed off having passed through 6 levels of approvers!!
